Last week, as the National Republican Convention in Florida focused on the extreme platform of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, the Obama campaign in New Hampshire launched Republicans for Obama, highlighting nearly 100 current and former Republicans from across the state who support President Obama's reelection.

The Obama campaign in New Hampshire is competing for each and every vote. Just last week, President Obama held an at capacity grassroots event in Windham, a town where Republicans outnumber Democrats 2-1. From now until November 6th, the campaign has been reaching out to Republicans across the state, discussing Romney's choice of running mate and identifying new supporters.

"The choice in this election couldn't be more clear. While Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are highlighting their extreme agenda that will replace Medicare with vouchers, cut taxes for millionaires while the middle class will get a tax hike and turn the clock back for women, the Obama campaign in New Hampshire will be reaching out to Republicans across the state," said Holly Shulman, Obama for America communications director. "From Hampton to Hanover and Pittsburg to Pelham supporters are going door to door talking to Republicans, independents and Democrats because they know how much is at stake."

"As the Colebrook Republican Town Chairman I fought like hell to elect Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, but when I look at today’s Republican Party, I’m ashamed to say I used to support it," said Granvyl "Bud" Hulse of Colebrook. "Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan’s plan to cut taxes for millionaires while making middle class families pay more won’t help our economy and it won’t win my vote. Furthermore I respect women too much to even think about supporting a party that treats them as second class citizens with no control over their health."

"The right-wing views of the Republican Party that say 'I’ve got mine and the rest of you are on your own,' doesn’t match up with my set of beliefs," said Gerald Bernier of Nashua. "That’s why I’m supporting President Obama this November."

"President Obama has fought every day to strengthen women’s economic security and empower us to make our own health care decisions," said Tammy Perron of Salem. "Women, no matter what political party they belong to, can’t afford to turn back the clock by electing Mitt Romney. That’s why I’ll be supporting President Obama in November."

"I am a lifelong Republican, but I don’t want to go back to refighting the battles of the past or turning the clock back for women as Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan suggest we do," said former Senator Rick Russman of Kingston. "We have made progress and have moved America forward. We can’t turn back now."
