Thousands of runners – including some locals – braved the summer-like temperatures to run in Monday's Boston Marathon. Temperatures soared into the upper 80s, and some runners reportedly collapsed due to the heat. But many of the runners did finish the race.
The men's race was won by Kenya's Wesley Korir, and Sharon Cherop, also of Kenya, won the women's race, according to the Boston Globe. Joshua Cassidy of Canada won the men's wheelchair race, and Shirley Reilly won the women's race.
Seven runners from Hampton, North Hampton and Seabrook also ran in the marathon. Here's how they finished:
