Fire at Jonathan's Hotel in Hampton

The blaze was reported around 9 a.m. this morning.

UPDATE, 10:30 A.M.: No one was injured in this morning's fire, according to Hampton Fire Chief Chris Silver.

The fire was in the back building, and the front part of the hotel remains open. The building's sprinklers reportedly helped keep the fire in check until firefighters arrived on scene, according to fire officials.

UPDATE, 9:30 A.M.: The fire has reportedly been knocked down, and firefighters are mopping up.

Firefighters are at the scene of a working fire at on Route 1A in Hampton.

Smoke is reportedly pouring from the four-story hotel, according to emergency radio broadcasts. The fire is on the first floor of the building, and the heavy flames have reportedly been knocked down.

Fire crews are now working to shut down the sprinklers, and mutual aid has been called in to assist in searches of the hotel.
