Crews Knock Down Fire at North Hampton Barn

Mutual aid was called to a working fire on Atlantic Avenue Friday afternoon.

North Hampton firefighters quickly knocked down a working fire at an Atlantic Avenue barn Friday afternoon, according to emergency radio communications.

Emergency radio communications reported around 5 p.m. that there was a working fire at a 20-foot-by-40-foot barn attached to a 2 1/2-story woodframe home at 264 Atlantic Ave., just down the street from the North Hampton fire station.

Mutual aid was dispatched and subsequent communications indicated the fire was knocked down a short time later.

Atlantic Avenue was reportedly closed off at the intersection with Lafayette Road while crews battled the fire.

The fire came a short time after the state declared a high threat of fire due to dry conditions.
