An autopsy is pending for the body of a 50- to 60-year-old woman that was discovered Sunday afternoon on Jenness Beach in Rye, according to the Union Leader.
Rye Police Chief Kevin Walsh told Union Leader the death has been deemed "non-suspicious," and that initial examination indicates no foul play. Walkers in the area of Cable Road found the woman — the identity of which is being withheld as police try to contact the family — and Walsh told Union Leader it appeared the body had been in the water for less than 24 hours.
“It was low tide at the time and some people were walking along the shore line and saw a body floating face down in the water,” Walsh told Union Leader.
