ORIGINAL STORY: Area firefighters quickly knocked down Sunday night a one-alarm fire that started on a porch in the area of Kings Highway and 1st Street in Hampton, according to emergency communications.

Emergency communications indicated crews were checking for extension in the attic of the two-story, 20-by-30-foot house at around 9 a.m., roughly half an hour after the first alerts of the fire came through.
