Crimeline for the Hamptons Donates to Sandy Relief

CRIMELINE FOR THE HAMPTONS DONATES $1000 TO SANDY RELIEF EFFORT

Group Steps Up to Help Local Police Department Officers’ Mission

Hampton, NH – On the evening of November 6, 2012,
Karin Breen, Chairwoman of Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., delivered a check for $1000.00 to aid local police officers involved in a relief effort to those devastated by Superstorm Sandy on Long Island, New York.

“We were approached by Lt. Dan Gidley of the Hampton
Police Department, and we didn’t need to think twice about it.  We knew we needed to help, so we did,” said Breen. “Our Executive Board got together and voted to write the check out immediately,” she added.

The relief effort, initiated by Portsmouth Police officers Chris Worthington, Adam Kozlowski, Steve Blanding, Bob Lukacz, and Hampton Police officers David Hobbs, Scott Bates, Barry Newcomb, and Steve Champey, among others, involves delivering emergency supplies, food, and gas in their own trucks and police vans, to New Yorkers whose lives and homes have been shattered by Superstorm Sandy.

Breen then brought the check to the Hampton Police
station immediately.  “We know that people are in desperate need and that time is of the essence.  We’re grateful to these officers for what they’re doing,” Breen said.

Breen added, “The main mission of Crimeline for the
Hamptons is to support our local police departments.  We carry out our mission in several ways, but expressing support to our local police is our primary goal.  When they ask us for something, we always try to find a way to give it to them.”

Since its inception in 1994, Crimeline’s funds are
used to give rewards for anonymous tips that lead to arrests and indictments for crimes in North Hampton, Hampton, Hampton Falls, and Seabrook. Knowledge
provided about any crime, anywhere, if presented to Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., may be eligible for a reward.

In addition, Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., can
purchase items that local police departments have need for, but that are not funded in their budgets.
